We provide evidence-based therapy for adults experiencing a wide variety of challenges such as Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, Panic, Worry, Agoraphobia, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Substance Use Concerns, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Grief, Burnout, Relationship Difficulties, and Low Self-Esteem.

Clinical Therapy FAQs and Fees

Communication from us will come through email and via Jane, our choice for secure practice management software. Your appointment will be confirmed and you will be sent an intake form to complete through Jane before attending your first appointment.

Your first 50-minute session will focus on you and your therapist getting to know each other and your therapist developing an understanding of your needs, concerns, and goals.

Therapy should always be collaborative, transparent, and tailored, ensuring you understand the rationale for the approach and feel comfortable moving forward with treatment.

We are not an emergency service. If an emergency or crisis situation arises, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Valued Action Psychological offers therapy on a fee-for-service model. Psychologists are $225 per 50-minute session.

Note: Psychological service fees are aligned with the suggested fee guidelines from the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia. Fees are subject to periodic review and may change. You'll be notified of any fee changes at least 30 days in advance.

Payment is due at the end of each session. We accept the following payment methods:

Visa, Mastercard, Debit, eTransferCash.

It's common for therapy fees to be covered by private insurance. You are encouraged to verify your coverage before attending your initial session. For more information about direct billing to private insurance, click here.

Most universities in Halifax, NS offer 100% coverage up to a certain maximum per year for students to access our services.

We ask that you cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. You may be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. Exceptions can be made for emergencies or unexpected illness.

Telehealth/virtual services are available for eligible clients. We can only provide virtual services to clients who are physically located in the province(s) where we hold professional registration. If you plan to participate in sessions while outside of Nova Scotia, please inform your psychologist in advance.
