What does an ADHD assessment involve?

Our ADHD assessments include a clinical interview, standardized rating scales, cognitive and attention testing, and a comprehensive written report with diagnosis and recommendations. Assessments are available for adults (18-65) and children (8+).

How much does an ADHD assessment cost?

ADHD assessments are a maximum of $2,300 for adults and $2,530 for children. Costs are commonly covered by private insurance. We encourage clients to verify their specific coverage prior to booking.

Is there a waitlist for ADHD assessment?

No. We currently have no waitlist and can schedule immediate ADHD assessment appointments for eligible clients.

Do you assess children for ADHD?

Yes. We provide ADHD assessments for children ages 8 and older, as well as adults aged 18 to 65.

The maximum fee for an adult ADHD Assessment is $2,300. This reflects 10 hours of clinical time (interview, testing, interpretation, report writing, feedback meeting).

The maximum fee for a child ADHD Assessment is $2,530. This reflects 11 hours of clinical time (interview, testing, interpretation, report writing, feedback meeting).

We offer comprehensive ADHD Assessments with our psychologists billing at the rate of $230/hour.

Total assessment fees vary somewhat in price and may be somewhat less than the amount indicated.

Common Referral Reasons

Concerns regarding poor sustained attention, distractibility, behavioral regulation, executive functioning difficulties (e.g., procrastination, organization, task management, planning, and follow-through), forgetfulness, and/or hyperactive-impulsive symptoms that are negatively impacting academic, occupational, or daily functioning. Some families exploring an ADHD assessment also have overlapping questions about a Child Giftedness Assessment. We welcome clients from Halifax, Dartmouth, and Bedford, as well as by virtual assessment across Nova Scotia.
